I spent last night performing the unenviable task of sifting through 6000 MAME roms for the ones I actually wanted play. Managed to whittle them down to 200 based on looking at the 8 character filename alone.

11 days since i bought the cabinet and it’s still not finished. 11 goddamn days.
I’ve put the new computer in there and it’s pretty damn tasty. Works nicely. It’s quiet, it’s small and windows boots up fairly fast. More >

i know i’ve said this before but iTunes is absolutely fucking shit. It’s chuggy, take up about 50% of my cpu resources and freezes or crashes more times than i can fucking remember.

Building a MAME Box

If you’ve been reading my ongoing and seemingly never-ending account of making my own mame machine you may want to plump for this option instead.
This is a photographic account of Simper building a joystick box. He’s bought the same joystick and buttons as me as well as the minipac. But he’s decided to put them in a nice sturdy box so he can sit on the floor. You’ll also notice that he’s added in pinball buttons on the side; something i’d like to eventually do when i can work out where the hell to put the buttons, and also when i conjure up enough nerve to actually drill the cabinet.
