The War on Drugs
Sorry there’s been no posts the last few days. Been poorly sick. Was on the edge of death. Might have mentioned it to the wife once or twice, i wasn’t sure.
Miraculously pulled through though so everything’s well again.
So, the war on drugs, what’s the fucking point?
Thames Valley Police were on the news the other night proudly exclaiming they busted another ‘Cannabis den’. Congratulations, you’ve just opened a hole in the market for another house to be chosen by green-fingered horticulturists.
Seriously though, what’s the point, other than to be seen to be active in ‘The War on Drugs’. I’m wondering how much money that cost the taxpayer, not to mention effort and time by the police they could be putting towards catching robbers, murderers and rapists.
No-one, high on weed, has ever held up a convenience store, or raped and killed a woman next to the River Kennet. Or even kicked the shit out of their wife on a munchies-fuelled rage.
And this pointless stupid fight against Cannabis will be never ending. It will literally never, ever end.
Is it just me or does the most logical solution seem to be to reach a compromise?
They could, and this is just an idea here, make Cannabis only available at designated places. It could then be taxed and regulated. No ‘Cannabis dens’ ever needed to be busted again. The pushers will be off the streets and people will feel safer buying it rather than having to buy it some burly Jamaican chap down an alley somewhere wondering where your hard-earned money is going to.
I think one country has already tried this method. Not sure which one. Wonder if it was successful…
Of course that’ll never happen in this pathetic country. There’s too many ignorant people here. And everyone knows that ignorance leads to fear, fear leads to hate and hate leads to the dark side. And they clearly don’t enjoy a smoke on the dark side.
